A Note on Gifts

Your presence means the world to us, and we don’t expect anything more. If you'd like to give a gift, we'd be grateful for contributions to our Nest Fund, which will help us buy our first home and truly make it our own.

Since our belongings are in storage while we’re living abroad, we don’t have space for physical gifts at this time.

Our Story
We met in Portland in February 2011 through an OkCupid match. Neither of us was looking for love at the time, but we decided on a “no pressure hang” at OMSI, Portland’s science museum, to watch an IMAX film about sea life.

After the movie, we decided to keep the evening going with dinner at Pambiche, a colorful Cuban restaurant. Conversation and connection came more easily over food, and by the end of the meal we still weren’t ready to call it a night. So we walked over to The Swift, a cozy neighborhood bar, ordered some mason jar cocktails, and sat down for a few rounds of Slamwich, a sandwich-themed card game.

The next few weeks were filled with bug petting, spicy food challenges, and nighttime walks around Sullivan's Gulch. By March we became official.

In the 14 years since, we've built a life together filled with themed brunch parties, hammock camping, chanterelle hunting, scary movies, and backyard barbecues with friends.
We moved in together in 2017, "adopted" our cat Rhoda during the pandemic, and in 2023 we packed up everything and relocated to Mexico City!

Now, in 2025, we are excited to bring together our closest friends and family to celebrate this new chapter. 💛

Travel
Thank you to all of the out-of-towners flying in to celebrate with us! Below is some guidance as you make your plans.
Flights

We recommend flying into John Wayne Airport (SNA), just a 15 minute drive away.
The next best option is Long Beach Airport (LGB), about 25 minutes away.
We don't recommend flying into LAX, even if the flight is cheaper! Orange is 45 mins - 2 hr away and you'll have to face the dreaded LA traffic.

Weather

Expect warm days and cool evenings, with average temperatures ranging from 48°F - 75°F. A light jacket is a good idea, especially if you’ll be out at night.

Transport

The best way to get around is by rideshare (Lyft/Uber) or rental car. SoCal is one big urban sprawl and public transit options are limited.

Parking at Debbie's house is minimal. We encourage shared car rentals, carpooling, or rideshare.
